How long will he be gone for?
This is a question I have been asked a lot by a bunch of people. So his training period is 8.5 weeks, so basically 9 weeks. He left on September 11th, so he'll graduate BMT (basic military training) sometime in November! Then he has technical school, which he graduates in February!
What is he (Jeremy) doing?
If you're talking about job wise, I honestly have no idea of what job he got! But if you're talking about why he's gone then I can answer that! Jeremy is in BMT (basic military training) for the U.S. Air Force! So he's in the Air Force going through training & getting ready to start working!
Was it hard saying good-bye to Jere?
Yes and no. Jeremy let me know the day he knew he was leaving, about 3 months ahead. So I honestly had a long period of time that I got to spend with him, we went on cute adventures (which you can see on my youtube channel) and we just enjoyed each others company. The day he had to leave was just full nervousness, and anxiety. We weren't sure if we were going to be able to say goodbye, because we didn't know if I was able to go to the airport to say bye to him. So I literally waited with my phone by my side every minute of that day. When I went to go see Jeremy I was nervous, and once I saw him walking towards me at the airport I bursted into tears. I straight up started crying (very loudly by the way) in the middle of baggage claim, right next to a Starbucks. The rest of the day I really felt numb, like a piece of me went on that flight with him. It sucked knowing that my best friend was going to be so far away from me, and we'd have no way to talk to each other, other than letters.
On the other hand, I was excited to start this new chapter in both of our lives. Jeremy would go on and start his journey with the military, and I had no idea what the heck I wanted to do with my life. I was excited to see this change in our lives, and see Jeremy's life change drastically. Jeremy has always wanted to do this, so I had every reason to be supportive and be there when he needs me throughout this.
I totally hope that answered your question, I know it was super long sorry!! haahah!
Can you guys talk?
In a way, yes! We're able to send letters to each other, which this generation honestly doesn't do due to us having texting + emailing, so this is such a huge change! The recruits are able to earn phone calls while they are in bootcamp too! But sending letters is the main way to communicate! In BMT they don't know anything that goes on in the outside world, they don't have TVs, newspapers, or phones on them. So letters is honestly the way to go with communication!
How many letters do you write to him?
More than I would like to admit! (joking) I've read that people usually write to their S.O's every single day! I write 2-5 times a week, depending on what's going on! Sometimes I honestly have no idea what to write to him, since my life totally hasn't been interesting since he left, so I just write some inspirational quotes & bible verses just to fill up the paper!
Do you miss Jeremy?
Do I miss him? Heck yeah I do! Jeremy is someone so close and dear to my heart (duh he's my amazing blonde lover). I do miss him, there isn't a day where I don't think about him! He gave me a build-a-bear before he left with a voice recording in it. He actually named the bear after what I want to name my son (which made me cry even more because it's super adorable), so I carry that bear everywhere and it's like I have a part of Jeremy wherever I go! Of course I got a hold of his clothes so I just wear them a lot too.
I'm a huge fan of chicken nuggets, and enthusiastically excited about what God as in store for my life. My other half is currently in the Air Force, so a lot of blog posts will be about the military as of right now.
