How much effort do you put into taking your Instagram pictures? I do my hair, my makeup, I make sure I find the PERFECT lighting & that my outfit is completely on point. This process can take up to about 1-3 hours! That doesn’t even include the photoshoot time..
After that I chose only the picture I like and that I want the world to see. I make sure that people only see the best pictures of me fake smiling and laughing my head off. I choose the filters I want to add over my photo to make my picture pop.
In today’s age, people like to photoshop their pictures. They make sure that their acne isn’t showing or that they look a lot thinner than they already are.
We expect our feed to be perfect and we want everyone to think that our lives are perfect too.
Let me tell you, life isn’t ever going to be perfect. There’s going to be bumpy roads that we won’t be able to photoshop to make it smooth. There’s going to be times where we can’t even get out of bed because we are so clearly devastated, and we can’t fake a laugh to make it look like we’re happy.
We’re posting all the wrong things on social media. We aren’t posting what’s REAL. We aren’t posting what we actually want to post. We’re posting what we think is going to get more likes or what’s going to match our feed more. We need to be our true authentic selves. For all we know, we can’t filter out the imperfections in real life.
I'm a huge fan of chicken nuggets, and enthusiastically excited about what God as in store for my life. My other half is currently in the Air Force, so a lot of blog posts will be about the military as of right now.
