Lackland AFB, San Antonio Texas
Two months later, I got to see the smile on my Airman's face again. Going through BMT (Basic Military Training) was very tough, but he made it through. I have never met anyone who was so dedicated to doing something, and they put all their strength and effort into doing it. Jeremy followed in his parents footsteps and joined the Air Force at the age of 18, on November 9th 2018 he officially became a United States airman. The day of his graduation it decided to rain, and let me tell you I mean RAIN! I'm from Florida so we never really have winter, so it was around 40-50ish degrees and the rain was SOOOO cold! So we went under where their rooms were, as we watched everyone officially become a part of the Air Force. It was a emotional day, but I have never felt so proud of Jeremy. He's officially an American Airman.
He then was able to show us around where he was living for those two months. We got a little tour, which was adorable. Then we went ahead and drove down to the city where we got lunch & was able to spend time with his family. It’s funny that you think that something like this would change someone, but he was still the same loveable dork that I fell in love with in highschool, the only difference is that he was in a uniform (which he looked adorable in).
How does it feel to be in a long distance relationship?
I've gotten asked this a lot so I just thought I'd answer it here. Long distance isn't bad as many people say that it is. I've known Jeremy for five years, we met freeman year of high school. We were friends, but we weren't super close. Senior year of high school we started dating, and we've been together ever since. It’s hard don’t get me wrong, but it’s also so amazing because both of our lives are so different but we both love eachother enough to be able to stay with eachother even though we’re a thousand miles away from eachother. There’s days where I will sometimes stay in bed really upset and turn on some sad music (you all know how that feels) but there isn’t a day where I will go without loving him.
I'm a huge fan of chicken nuggets, and enthusiastically excited about what God as in store for my life. My other half is currently in the Air Force, so a lot of blog posts will be about the military as of right now.
